Sunday 6th of Feb

My 3 steps

Today i ....

Paid $100 off CC

I did sit ups, crunches, push ups, lunges, squats and then skipping.10 of each ,then 1 min of skipping. For 20 mins. Doesn't seem like much but do it and then get back to me :)

1 hour of reading ...so boring!

My 3 goals for this week 6th- 12th Feb

1. Finish food assignment

2. Bake a zucchini slice (something new)

3. Make sure house is ready for inspection on Saturday

Below is a picture of the Weasley (Harry Potter) kitchen. Have you ever seen a photo and thought " I want that"?. While i don't want the dishes in the sink. I love how this photo feels. To me, it says "Warmth, love, food, home, safe and happy".
What i love about this little made up family is their love for each other and they live simply and within their means. So if it means having all odd chairs around the table...so be it. At least they all eat together and at a table...a rare thing to most.

My favourite is the blue chair. Please feel free to pick a chair or any spot in my Weasley kitchen.....i see no one is by the sink yet.....

So....

Slack!

That is me. I always think about writing up a post but then all of a sudden a month has gone past.

2011 has been eventful so far. I had an interview but didn't get. Car troubles. Bills, bills and more bills. And just a bit of a blah feeling.

That was until last weekend. I thought...complaining doesn't fix it and you know this!!!

I am happy to report my CC is going down and I'm very focused on it.

I am happy to report i lost my Christmas kilos and have cut out drinking wine every night and at the moment I'm not doing it at all for Feb.

I am happy to report my goals are clear and achievable

I am unhappy to report i have done nothing for my study.

So each day i want to

Make a payment

20 mins of exercise

1 hour of study

At the end of this year i want to celebrate being debt free and then enter the new year saving for the biggest debt ever...our very own home :)

What i learnt

in 2010!

Well i was asked this question and i thought? and thought?....

2010 for me was a year of lessons and learning how to not let fear take control of EVERYTHING.

So lets hope that 2011 is for putting what i learnt into practice.

All about....

 The King's Speech.

The story of King George VI of Britain, his impromptu ascension to the throne and the speech therapist who helped the unsure monarch become worthy of it.

Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush in The King's Speech

Today i saw the above movie. I honestly LOVED it.
Geoffrey Rush and Colin Firth both deserve all the hype
about their performance in this film.

I love movies about the royal family and this one did not
disappoint. It was a tad long in places but hey its about a man with
a stammer so you have to expect it to drag out in p p places.
he he sorry for my lame joke.

The surprise in the movie for me was seeing Jennifer Ehle.
Jennifer Ehle The King's Speech

In the movie she played Myrtle, Geoffery Rush character wife.

But i know her better as....

Elizabeth Bennet.

I highly recommend the King's Speech. I laughed out loud and also cried.
Makes me feel like i got my money worth when that happens.

What I learnt....

This Christmas.

Lesson One:  I never want to spend another Christmas without this man.

Lesson 2: It doesn't feel like Christmas till I hug this woman.

Lesson 3: It takes me begging my brothers to just get ONE nice photo.

Lesson Four: When you have found your soul mate you know...no matter how old you are.

Lesson Five: Shit Happens!!! Even at Christmas.

Lesson Six: Adding new members to the family is awesome...especially ones who do the dishes :)

Lesson Seven: That my begging was pointless. My favourite photo of them turned out to be the silliest one.

Cant wait to do all next year :)

What i think about...

CHRISTMAS.

I really believe it is the most wonderful time of the year.

For me Christmas is a celebration for surviving another year. It is a chance to stop and reflect over a glass of wine and the sweet voices of Bing or Dean.
Listening to the song "Please come home for Christmas" ...the words "To be with the ones that you love". Sums it up for me.

BUT in saying that John and I aren't spending Christmas together because we both want to see our families. His are going to Tassie for 3 weeks and mine will be in Adelaide.

So we had our Christmas early. We both have very different ideas of Christmas. He is "Its just another day"...I turn into a wanna be Martha Stewart (but a cheap one)

So here is a few of John and I Christmas ways:

When it comes to : Wrapping

Me: I fold the edges down so the are all even and smooth. I make sure the little pictures match up. Add a bow and fill the gift tag with words of love.

John: Re wraps it in the paper he just took off his. (while i close my eyes)

When it comes to : The tree

Me: Put on "Its a wonderful life" get a glass of wine, and hum happily to myself.

John: Pours himself a glass of wine and laughs

When it comes to : Food

We have no difference here. WE LOVE FOOD!!

When it comes to: Christmas spirit

Me: I have enough to light a town

John: Thinks no-one has more then me.

But when it all comes down to it:

John picks thoughtful gifts, he makes me a beautiful card, he will wear a Santa hat for a photo, he buys me lights that will last for a long time (he knows his stuff), he smiles at the tree when he thinks I'm not looking, he cooks amazing food, he makes yummy cocktails, he will watch the nightmare before Christmas with me, he will run outside if he hears fireworks so i can see them,he will go down and get cream when i forget it, he will stop what he is doing and come look at a cookie i made, he will eat it even though he doesn't like cookies, he is so thankful for any gift i give. He makes me feel LOVED  and after all ...."That's all i want for Christmas".

Monday- All About .....Tessa

This is my beautiful baby sister who on Friday turns 18!

I can’t believe it.

I remember the day my mum told me she was pregnant. I was so excited.

Mum had a tricky pregnancy with Tessa but in true Tessa style she was strong and knew exactly what she was doing and was absolutely fine. Oh they also told mum she was having a boy.

I remember the day she was born. It was just after 4pm on 5th of November.
We had walked in the door from school put away our bag and sat down to watch Captain Planet. The phone rang it was Paddy to say “It’s a girl”.

The second i saw her i feel in love. She still is the most beautiful newborn I have seen. She wasn’t all red and spotty looking, or all scrunchy face. She was peaceful and beautiful, she had smooth even skin and just perfect.

Fast forward to toddler years.... “OH LORD”!!!! The girls in our family (including me) have all been hard work as toddlers the worst thing is we all scream. I think it’s just frustration on not being able to do things. We used to walk Tessa around and around the hallway to settle her.

From 3 to about 5 Tessa acted as if she was a dog she loved it!! So cute.

I remember her first day of school. She screamed so bad the teacher said to take her home. She was very shy and quiet though out primary school.

High School has seen Tessa blossom into a really girly girl, who is loud and bubbly.

I can’t even put into words how much I love my sister. I feel so blessed and lucky everyday at the amazing gift of sisterhood. I get tears just thinking about it. It is pure love. I love her for no other reason then she is Tessa. And she is someone my heart couldn’t be without.

Some random things about Tessa
*She does an amazing snapper fish face
*She has a wonderful laugh
*She is clumsy
*She is an AMAZING artist
*She loves animals
*She can burp really loud
*Makes the best coffee
*Is an amazing listener
*She tells the funniest stories, actually its more the way she tells it
*She loves strawberries
*She drinks weird flavour drinks
*She eats sour lollies and will lie to you to get you to eat it just to point and laugh at you.
*She is someone everyone should have in their life
Love this girl...only a few more days i can call her that. Then she is a woman!
                                                            Told you....Snapper Face

What a way to start the week

WE GOT A PLACE  :)

It was our second favourite :)

I went into work to fax off two applications (one was our place) when i arrived at work they then asked me to work till 2pm pretty stressful as i needed to send everything in this morning. I walk in the door at 2:23 and at 2:34 we were offered the place.

Its only one bedroom but in a way that's good because we don't want to fall back into... "Oh Sydney will be alright" coz its just not us :)

Its a perfect temp home.

Onto to more packing :)

Thanks for the good vibes xox

WH*: My old CD got jammed and now it wont play anything.

PW: "I'm going to call and see how the are going on letting us stay for 2 more weeks"
WH: "Sorry but we cant let you"

PW: I enquired about 7 places to inspect on Saturday
WH: An hour later i heard from 5 to say they have already taken applications so its not on

PW: I got paid today
WH: I brought a pack of MM's :)

Its a happy ending :)

Well in my last post i was sulking..."Oh poor me".

Have a look at what i got:

http://www.vitalaffirmations.com/pool/affirmation_card_195.htm?apc=1

Ha ha thanks for the reminder universe :)

Rambling on about- MOVING!!!

Oh why is moving so stressful!

We have had no luck with the landlord extending our stay. So in about 3 weeks we have to be out!!! NO FAIR!!! why did they have to sell? OK sulking time is over.

This Saturday we will be looking for places (in Sydney, as w have had no luck yet with Adelaide work). i tell you looking for a rental here in Sydney is just like being on the show "The Amazing Race". 12 other couples looking at the place and then everyone dashing off to the next one.

Keep your fingers crossed for us :) And wish us luck!!
