What I learnt....

This Christmas.

Lesson One:  I never want to spend another Christmas without this man.

Lesson 2: It doesn't feel like Christmas till I hug this woman.

Lesson 3: It takes me begging my brothers to just get ONE nice photo.

Lesson Four: When you have found your soul mate you know...no matter how old you are.

Lesson Five: Shit Happens!!! Even at Christmas.

Lesson Six: Adding new members to the family is awesome...especially ones who do the dishes :)

Lesson Seven: That my begging was pointless. My favourite photo of them turned out to be the silliest one.

Cant wait to do all next year :)

What i think about...

CHRISTMAS.

I really believe it is the most wonderful time of the year.

For me Christmas is a celebration for surviving another year. It is a chance to stop and reflect over a glass of wine and the sweet voices of Bing or Dean.
Listening to the song "Please come home for Christmas" ...the words "To be with the ones that you love". Sums it up for me.

BUT in saying that John and I aren't spending Christmas together because we both want to see our families. His are going to Tassie for 3 weeks and mine will be in Adelaide.

So we had our Christmas early. We both have very different ideas of Christmas. He is "Its just another day"...I turn into a wanna be Martha Stewart (but a cheap one)

So here is a few of John and I Christmas ways:

When it comes to : Wrapping

Me: I fold the edges down so the are all even and smooth. I make sure the little pictures match up. Add a bow and fill the gift tag with words of love.

John: Re wraps it in the paper he just took off his. (while i close my eyes)

When it comes to : The tree

Me: Put on "Its a wonderful life" get a glass of wine, and hum happily to myself.

John: Pours himself a glass of wine and laughs

When it comes to : Food

We have no difference here. WE LOVE FOOD!!

When it comes to: Christmas spirit

Me: I have enough to light a town

John: Thinks no-one has more then me.

But when it all comes down to it:

John picks thoughtful gifts, he makes me a beautiful card, he will wear a Santa hat for a photo, he buys me lights that will last for a long time (he knows his stuff), he smiles at the tree when he thinks I'm not looking, he cooks amazing food, he makes yummy cocktails, he will watch the nightmare before Christmas with me, he will run outside if he hears fireworks so i can see them,he will go down and get cream when i forget it, he will stop what he is doing and come look at a cookie i made, he will eat it even though he doesn't like cookies, he is so thankful for any gift i give. He makes me feel LOVED  and after all ...."That's all i want for Christmas".

It is fresh, easy and calm...weird to think i get all that from some walls but it is true.
Here is our favourite room, its the best.....

It looks pink but its not.

And when we go for a walk down the street this is our view...

Ha ha! Sorry, that's my favourite view when walking.
